LIVING WATER
The famous RABBI had travelled quite a distance that day and knew just where to stop for rest. He knew every well in the land because of His calling in life. This one was quite special to him, and in just the right place. His friends, who were travelling with him, had gone on ahead to look for food, but the RABBI was content in every way to just sit and wait beside the well. It was as if he had been waiting for an appointment all day long, with an unknown guest. His closest friends knew to give him space when a well was involved, along with that certain look he would display. It was almost as if he was concentrating on an important meeting with royalty, or an important dignitary. It wasn't long before a mystery guest came and began to draw water from the well. The RABBI asked for a drink of water and the stranger quickly answered him with questions. It was very unusual for a man to ask a stranger for a drink of water, especially if that stranger was a woman. So many times the RABBI had set the customs of others aside, leading them into the greater that awaits. They both were moving easily and quickly in conversation about family and things not ordinarily shared with strangers.

THE SHEMA, THE RABBI, AND THE GOSPEL
In 1930, our family purchased a farm that had a small grove of fifty walnut trees. The trees were near the entrance of the farm and were beautiful. Over the years, the grove became smaller and smaller due to weather events. In 2019, the largest tree was hit by lightning and died. It was the last strong, towering tree of the grove. Being over one hundred years old and straight and strong, its value is more precious than gold. It is our farm's "oak of righteousness". This is a piece of wood from our "oak of righteousness".
